I am not a huge NASCAR fan. I would rather play a NASCAR video game than watch a race on television. The physics of NASCAR exceeded my expectations. What else can I say about The physics of NASCAR. The science explanations made the science understandable.
I was thinking I will write about what I liked learning about best. I can't pick one thing. I liked learning about the paint, tires, shocks, engine, drafting. Learning about the cars made me want to be a NASCAR fan.
For me The physics of NASCAR was a joy to read. I liked it so much I wish it had gone on for 300 more pages. I am glad I took the time to read it. I am not sure that I will become a NASCAR fan though.

I could not wait to read Math adventures with python. I was so excited to learn how to use processing for math. I never knew that python had a turtle. I thought only Logo had a turtle. And I was excited to learn about Mandelbrot sets, Julia sets, Cellular Automata, genetic algorithms.
I read thought the book. And then I was going to copy the code by hand into a text file or processing. I made it all the way to the grid program. I kept getting an error so then I decided to download all the code from git instead of copying all the code from the book by hand. Now I can read the code on my computer and run it knowing that I will not get any errors.
This book was fun to read. It made math very understandable. I am not saying I can remember a lot of what I read. I am no math wiz after all.
I hope that math adventures with python starts me on a path to using python to solve math problems. It was well worth the time it took me to read Math adventures with python.

Review: 3D Printing for Dummies
3D Printing for Dummies by Kirk HausmanMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
I wanted to read 3d printing for dummies after I got a 3d printer or at least had the parts to build a 3d printer. But, I decided to read it even though I don't have a 3d printer or parts to build a 3d printer. I figure its better to learn about 3d printing before I get into 3d printing.
My favorite part of the book is exploring the business side of 3d printing. I had never considered how 3d printing might impact manufacturing. it will be interesting to see what happens. My favorite section of chapter 6 is crafting personal store fronts. I had heard of shapeways but, I had not heard of ponoko.
i had no idea there there were different types of 3d printers. i thought they were all the same kind. I am glad I know different now.
I did not build the printer that the authors built in the book. But, it was interesting to learn how a 3d printer is built. I never knew that 3d printer kits. I thought all 3d printers came per-built or had to be built front scratch. I also enjoyed learning about the different software that needs to be used with 3d printing. And I am glad a lot of its open-source.
If I ever get a 3d printer I want to use it to build radio control cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles, and drones. And I also want to print cookies, pizza, decorate cakes.
Its seems like using a 3d printer might be harder than I thought. But, once I got used to it I hope it will be easier. I hope that I get into 3d printing. I want to build my fist 3d printer from a kit.
I learned a lot about 3d printing from 3d printing for dummies. Now all I need is a 3d printer so I can put all the information to use.
That reminds me that maybe about 3 years ago I read a book about tinkercad. I wanted to learn how to use tinkercad but, I had no interest in 3d printing. Now though I am interesting in getting into 3d printing. What a difference 3 years can make.

Review: Andre the Giant: Life and Legend

Andre the giant was one of my favorite wrestlers in the 1980's. I used to watched WWF wresting probably ever week. And sometimes I would even watch it when it was on late at night if i did not fall asleep to early.
I liked that Andre the giant: life and legend was a quick read. I also liked the artwork. I would have thought it have been fun to be so big. One story in the book stuck out at me. It was when Andre the giant got out of bed and his ankle snapped. That would be so scary. I would freak out if that happened to me.
When I watched Andre the giant wrestle I never knew that Acromegally or that he might not live past forty. I did not know until years later that Andre the giant had died in 1993. I don't remember where I was when I head that he was dead. I think I heard that he had died in a cave in France.
i think Andre the giant was a fascinating person. In addition to Andre the giant: life and legend I have also watched a documentary about his life.. I can't remember the name of the documentary though.
Andre the giant: Life and legend was worth the time it took me to read it. Maybe I will read it again.

I am not that familiar with big data or data. So I thought why not read Big data big dupe. I liked that the book was a quick read. Even I could read it in no time at all. Its so tough for me to think about what I want to write for reviews of books. I try my best. So what else can I say about big data big dupe?
I learned that there can be a lot of data but, maybe not a lot of it can be useful. And I also learned that getting useful information from data takes thought and trained people. I think it was worth the time I spent reading it.

Review: Auto Repair For Dummies

I used to be more interested in cars than I am now. I enjoyed reading Auto repair for dummies. My favorite chapter was the one about alternative fuel vehicles.
I liked that the book said what repairs I could do and which once probably should be left to professionals. What else can I say about auto repair for dummies? It was fun reading about all the parts of the car. The book talks about The systems that make up automobiles. I think I know more about cars because of reading auto repair for dummies.
I also liked that the author talked about some of her personal experiences with her cars.
I still like learning about cars but, am more interested in how to repair bicycles or radio control cars than automobiles now though.

Review: Drones: What Everyone Needs to Know

I thought drones was an interesting book to read. One of the things it made me think about was the use of drones in other countries. I had never thought about that before. I thought that was interesting. I also liked the chapter about other types of drones. Like ground drones or sea drones. I have never given those much thought.
I have never flown a drone and don't own a drone. Though I do want to own a drone. I have never given the privacy concerns about the use of drones much thought.
Probable my only thoughts about drones where that I want to fly a drone. So Drones gave me some things to think about.
I wish I remembered more of the information in books I read. I wish I could remember every word. I try my best and that is all I can do.
So I thought Drones was an OK book. I am more interested in how to build drones than in drone policy. Though I think it was worth the time to read Drones.

Review: Wisdom of the Bees: Principles for Biodynamic Beekeeping

Its difficult for me to figure out what I want to write for a review. I wish book reviews came easy to me. Unfortunately not. I had never heard of biodynamic beekeeping before reading about it in Wisdom of bees.
I had two favorite chapters from the book. Hives and hive management and Artificial breeding. In the hives and their management chapter I liked the discussion about wax foundations, queen excluder boards and smokers. I never thought that you might be able to spray water on honey bees or drum the hive instead of using a smoker. I thought that was interesting. In that same chapter I also liked learning about the top bar and warre hives. I am not sure I have heard about the warre beehive before. As for the artificial breeding chapter its always interesting to read about queen bee breeding.
Some of the things in this book did not make sense to me. One would be the influence of the planets on bee hives. I don't know if I have got that right.
So there was some interesting information in Wisdom of the bees and some of the information did not make sense to me.
And the Appendix hive design principles made me wonder if I can design a bee hive. I had never thought of designing a beehive before.
I don't think I have anything more to say about wisdom of the bees. It was worth the time it took me to read it.

Review: Field Guide to the Common Bees of California
Field Guide to the Common Bees of California by Gretchen LeBuhnMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
Its always exciting to read about bees. I have so much to learn. I like the books small size. My favorite thing about Field guide to common bees of California is the illustrations of the bees. The bees look so great. So adorable I hope I get to see a lot of the different different types of bees in the wild.
I also reading the first part of the book called an introduction to bees. I only wish I could remember all the information I read. I try my best. I think it was wroth the time it took me to read it.
