Today I made something to sit on

I followed the blender 3d noob to pro seat tutorial to make this model. It did not take me long to make the seat, it's super easy. After I fished making the seat I added a material and colored it black and then rendered it. I think the seat turned out good.

I made some tires using blender

Today I made some tires with the help of another tutorial from blender 3d noob to pro. Making the wheels did not take very long and they where not that hard to make either. I don't know what else to write so that's all for today.

Yesterday I got the Lana Turner book that I won on February 3. Two things I like about the book are that it is huge and also it has lots of pictures. I don't know anything about Lana turner so I can't wait to read the book and learn more about here. What a great win.

Also yesterday I got an email saying I had won a DVD from a monthly entry sweepstakes I have been entering. It is the first monthly entry sweepstakes I have ever won. I've won daily, weekly, one entry, and now monthly entry sweepstakes. Yay for me!! I have not won any one entry ongoing sweepstakes I have entered, so hopefully I will win one of those this year too.

And today I got my first instant win of 2009. I won a free bag of combos snacks. I don't think I have ever tried combos snacks so it will be interesting to try a bag. It always makes me feel great to get an instant win.

What a great month February is turning out to be, 3 wins in the first 10 days of of the month. I am glad I did not give up after not winning in January and kept entering sweepstakes. If I had given up I would not have won all these nice prizes. I hope I get some more wins this month. That's all for today, bye.

Today I made a pencil

For my blender project today I made a pencil. I used this tutorial I got from CGTutorials. I liked making the pencil because it was so easy. I added an eraser at the top because I wanted to experiment. I think the pencil looks OK, well at least it looks like a pencil.

I a made a cup in blender

Today I made a cup using a cup tutorial I got from CGTutorials. It looks like a cup, but the handle is all messed up and the bottom of the cup is not right either. I'll have to practice making the cup so I can make it better.

Today I made another goblet

Today I made another goblet with the help of a tutorial from blender 3d noob to pro. I followed the second goblet tutorial where the goblet is made out of a cylinder. Yesterday I did the first goblet tutorial making my goblet out of a cube. It's interesting to see two different ways of making the same object.

I also created a cube and made grass come out of it. I wanted to put grass some where so I thought why not make it come out of a cube. I think the grass coming out of the cube looks neat, very cool!!

Today I made a goblet with the help of a tutorial from blender 3d noob to pro. I think the model turned out OK.

Of course I had to add some grass for the goblet to sit on. Making grass is my new obsession, I have to add it to every render. That's all for today.

I made a die today

Today I made a die. I followed another tutorial from Blender 3d noob to pro. I don't think the die turned out to good, I must have made a mistake somewhere because the spots don't look right. I'll have to make another die and see if it comes out better. 

penguin that I made using blender

Today I made a penguin using blender. I created it with the help of a blender 3d noob to pro tutorial. I added some color and some grass. I love adding grass to blender scenes now that I know how to make grass. 

Gingerbread man in the grass

Today I did the gingerbread tutorial from the book Blender 3D Noob to Pro. The gingerbread man did not take long to make so I added some grass and a hat. The gingerbread man makes me think of gingerbread cookies, I love gingerbread cookies. Yummy.

Today I got my first sweepstakes win of 2009

Today I got my first sweepstakes win of 2009. I am not sure what I won. I got a phone call that asked to confirm my information. It's the first phone call that I have ever received telling me I have won a sweepstakes. So two firsts today, my first sweepstakes phone call and my first win of 2009. How great! I hope the wins keep coming.

Today I made grass using blender

Today I made grass using a tutorial I found on blender artists. It's a lot easier to make grass using blender than I would have thought. Making grass is fun. oops the picture is darker than I thought, but it's definitely grass.

Today I put clothes on a model

Today I put clothes on a model I exported from make human into blender. I found a clothing tutorial on this website I got from CGTutorals. I was not even looking for a tutorial to put clothes on a 3d human model, but I found the clothes tutorial and then decided to do it. Make human is great it makes me look like a great artist.

I also learned something else today. The last time I exported a make human model into blender all I got was a blank screen when I rendered the model. I though oh no the human models look great, but they must take a long time to render.

To day I also got a blank screen from the blender render, but this time I thought, what is the camera view so I checked and sure enough the camera was positioned so it looked inside the model, It might have even been inside the model. So I corrected the camera view and rendered the the scene and there the model was.

I created a human again

Today I was tired so I created a human again. At least I know I can remember all the steps to make a simple human. That's all for today.
