Review: All Your Base Are Belong to Us: How Fifty Years of Videogames Conquered Pop Culture

All Your Base Are Belong to Us: How Fifty Years of Videogames Conquered Pop Culture All Your Base Are Belong to Us: How Fifty Years of Videogames Conquered Pop Culture by Harold Goldberg
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I used to think I knew a lot about video games until I started reading books about video games. Then I realized I know nothing about video games. I liked reading all the profiles of game developers in this book. If I had to list my favorite profiles I would say Trip Hopkins founder of electronic arts because I like playing electronic arts sports video games, and Sam and Dan Houser the founders of Rockstar. I have never played a Rockstar game though. I should start.
When I write a review I worry that I will get things wrong. And people will say is he writing about the same book I read. I don't think anyone will read my book reviews. Its fun trying to write book reviews. Trying to think about what to write and what I think about a book I have read.

nothingEqualsNothing: OatmealBreakfasts latest

This is a song I wrote about my frustration that I feel when I want a lot things to get done but, they never get done. Maybe I should stop being so hard on myself. I do get things done in time. It takes awhile to get things I want to get done done. I hope one day that someone listens to the song and enjoys it. Goodnight from OatmealBreakfast.

Review: GPS

GPS GPS by Paul E. Ceruzzi
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I had never given much thought about GPS before reading this book. All I knew about GPS was that it gave you your location. I was surprised to learn that other countries also have there own GPS systems. I thought the U.S gps was the only game in town.
It was exciting to learn about the systems that were used to give your location before GPS. Though I can't recall their names right now as I am wring this review.

imminetlyWrong: OatmealBreakfasts latest and certainly greatest.

I think this song sums up the way I think. I am certain I am right about something in the future about the way my life is going to go. And at times I wish I were someone else. I don't know why I am certain about things in my life in the future. I know I don't know everything. I just can't help myself about trying to predict the future. I hope one day someone enjoys this song. Until I release a new song this is oatmealBreakfast saying bye for now.

Review: Wild Bill: The True Story of the American Frontier's First Gunfighter

Wild Bill: The True Story of the American Frontier's First Gunfighter Wild Bill: The True Story of the American Frontier's First Gunfighter by Tom Clavin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I picked this book to read I thought it was about buffalo bill Cody. It was only when I started reading it that I realized it was about wild bill Hickok. I knew the name wild bill Hickok before reading this book but, I did not know anything about his life.
I found it interesting to read about his time as sheriff in Abilene Kentucky. I had had no idea he was a sheriff. I also enjoyed reading about his time spent as an actor with buffalo bill Cody. One thing I found interesting was that he had failing eyesight.
I think that if you are interested in wild bill Hickok then you will enjoy reading this book.

Review: Finite Math for Dummies

Finite Math for Dummies Finite Math for Dummies by Dummies Press
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read the paperback version of the book, Not the ebook version. I enjoy reading about math. Who doesn't? I enjoyed learning about linear equations, how to graph linear equations, and matrices. And I understood a lot of the math I read about. It was a fun read. Now all I need to do is practiced what I learned so I don't forget it.

cantDeal OatmealBreakfasts latest medicore song.

Often I think I can't deal with challenges that come my way in my life. When I was younger I gave up, but, now that I am older I try to overcome challenges. I don't think this song captures how I feel when I can't deal but, I tried. Maybe I should work on the lyrics for each song for a year instead of ten minutes. I am sure people cold tell the difference. I hope one day that someone listens to the song and likes it. Until next time OatmealBreakfast.

Review: The Official U.S. Army Illustrated Guide to Edible Wild Plants

The Official U.S. Army Illustrated Guide to Edible Wild Plants The Official U.S. Army Illustrated Guide to Edible Wild Plants by Department of the Army
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I read the paperback edition of the book not the ebook edition. I liked the pictures that went with the description of the wild plants. I can't recall eating any wild plants. Yes, I can. I did eat some wild licorice, I think.
I would be nice if I could get all my food from wild plants. Then I would not have to put any work or into a garden. All I would need to do is harvest the food. I would be to insecure of myself to eat a plant I did not grow myself unless someone who knew what they were talking about showed me in person which plants are edible and which are not.
I was surprised that foxtail grass seeds are edible. i was also surprised that sago palms had anything edible in them.
If you are looking for a quick read about edible wild plants this is the book for you.

sweetSweater: OatmealBreakfast releases a new song

A virtually no one will listen to that song. So why do I make songs. I make songs because I enjoy making songs. I suppose writing a song about a sweater is not the most exciting of song subjects. I decided to wrong a song about a sweater and so I wrote the song about a sweater. In reality I have never had a sweet sweater so the song it not autobiographical. I did not even describe the sweater in the song. I hope that one day a person listens to the song and enjoys it. Good day from OatmealBreakfast, until my next song release. javascript:void(0);

Review: 100 Greatest Video Game Characters

100 Greatest Video Game Characters 100 Greatest Video Game Characters by Jaime Banks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed learning about all the video games characters that were in this book. My favorite characters were Pac-Man, john Dowd, Michael Vick, Lora croft, Bill Clinton, Samus Aran, Bo Jackson I am sure I am leaving some out.
I last played Pac-man on the Atari 2600. I was not very good. The highest I got was level one or two. I was surprised to learn that the game had 260 playable levels. I hope I got the number right.
One of my favorite games on the Nintendo game cube was Metroid prime. I even had a book to tell me how to play the game. I never read it and never got to the end of the game. I also had Metroid on the NES. I did even worse in the game.
Now I want to write about characters that I like but, were not in the book. The book made me think about who my favorite characters are. I think it was in NFL 94 staring Joe Montana for the sega genesis. In that game I found out that Mel gray was untouchable. Hand him the ball and it was touch down every time. At least that is how I remember it. So I always traded for Mel gray and got him on my team. And ran my score past 100 pretty quickly. It was unfortunate that the game did not show scores over 100 points.
And there is one more character I will wrote about. When I play games I played mostly sports games but, this game is not a sports game. The game is Dead to rights. I liked Jake Slate and his dog shadow. Jack was a cop looking to find out who killed his dad I think. The game was so fun to play. I also enjoyed the story. So fun. I hope to play dead to rights again someday.

Review: Bees: A Natural History

Bees: A Natural History Bees: A Natural History by Christopher O'Toole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed looking at all the color pictures of bees. I learn new things from every book I read about bees. The chapter I enjoyed the most was the conservation and management of bees because I like reading about the different types of bees that are used for pollination of food crops. I was surprised to learn about the Australian bee Amegilla asserta that may be able to used in Australia for pollinating tomatoes in Australia.
I thought there was a lot of great information in this book. I thought its a coffee table book. Its so big that when you are done reading it you can use it for you coffee table. All you need is some legs under the book to get it off the ground.
I think its worth a read if you are interesting in Bees.

rcSprinter : Its oatmealBreakfasts new song

This is a song about RC cars. I have owned several RC cars over my life time. I don't recall ever driving them that much. The fist RC cars I owned took double A batteries. I can picture the fist RC car I owned but, I don't remember the name of it. It was a small buggy and the body was red and white. I don't know how long the batteries lasted on the double A powered RC cars but, probably they did not last long. When I got old I got the hornet and later the traxxas Hawk. With those RC they had rechargeable batteries for the cars but, still had double to power the transmitters. They were fun to drive. Looking back I wish I would have practiced driving my RC cars after school instead of listening to sports talk radio when I was in high school. It would have been fun to make a little makeshift track to drive the hawk and hornet around. I think racing around a track would be more fun than the way I drove them was just to drive them pointlessly around. I am older and wiser now that is for sure. If I ever drive RC cars again I will do a better jobs and practice everyday. I hope one day someone listens to an enjoys rcSprinter. This is oatmealBreakfast saying have a fun day.
