Borland C/C++ compiler

The second compiler I ever used was a C/C++ compiler from borland. It was used at a comand prompt. It was not a fancy IDE compiler, but I could get it for free and that was good. I did use the compiler to compile a few programs, but that was all. I liked it because I could use it at a comand prompt and it did not take long to download. I believe it was called borland C/C++ 5.5.

My first C/C++

The first compiler that I ever used was a C/C++ compiler. I can not remember the name exactly, but I think it was cygin C/C++ compiler. It looked like it would be fun to use althought I never figured out how to use it. It took me about 16 hours to download on a 56kb dial-up modem. I think you could use either vi or emas as text editors to write the c/c++ programs. I know it worked when I downloaded it because the test program the instructions said to run worked. Yep it was exciting when it finished downloading, but as I said before I never figured out how to use it which was upsetting. I think I would have liked that compiler.

When I got my computer

When I got my computer a few years ago I did not know how many great free programs were available on the world wide web. I knew that I could get free anti virus software, but I do not think I was aware I could get so much more free. I is amazing to me that people would make great software and give it away for free. I Think it is great because not everyone has a lot of money to buy software and also some people are probably cheap.

Some of the free software I use : open watcom c/c++ IDE, Blender computer graphics program, gimp photo editing software, HLA assembler, squeak, free anti spy ware programs, lazaras IDE for pascal programming language, SDK for java programming language, Rebol programming language. Thoese are the ones that I can remember right now.

C++ programming language

I think the first programming language I heard about was C++. I believe it was on computer chronicles hosted by stuart cheifet and he was talking with someone one the show about a program that would teach you a computer programming language. Also on another episode of computer cronicles stuart went to EA sports and I think they used C++ to program their games.

At the time I had no idea how to program a computer. It probably sounded like magic to my ears. I would have thought you need to go to four years of college or something similar. I would have never thought that I could lean to program a computer. Never in a million years, no way.

Dukes of hazzard

The Dukes of Hazzard was another favorite show of mine. All I remember of the show was the general lee and there were a lot of car chases. I think there were two made for t.v. moves and I saw the first one and thought it was pretty good. I also know there was a video game and I think it got good reviews but I have never played it. Most of the shows t.v shows I like I only remember the cars.

I used to like to put together plastic model kits. One of the kits I put together was the 1969 dodge chager, the general lee. It s a nice looking model car. It is a little boken though.

My favorite T.V shows

Yesterday I wrote about my favorite computer t.v. show and I started to think about my favorite sitcoms or regular old t.v. shows that are not about computers. My favorite show was Magnum P.I. with tom selleck. I don't remember that much about the show, but I do remember magnums ferrari I thought it was so cool. I must have also liked the fact that magnum was a private investigator. I am not only a fan of magmum P.I, but of tom selleck. I also liked some of his movies, the three men and a baby moves, mr. baseball and I think I even saw him when he was on friends.

How I got interested in computers

I first got interest in computers when I stated watching a show called dave chalk's computer show. I loved that show so much I could not wait until the weekend so I could watch it. One of the things on the show that I liked most was where the hosts dave and mike were buiding a computer. It was facinating for me to watch that part of the show. I don't think they ever finished building the compuer, but it go me interested to learn more about computer hardware. I think I watched the show from 1997 to 2000 and was sad to see it go off the air.

Panic about doing a bog

I have always wanted to do a blog or a website although I have not accomplished my goal. I desperately want to write a blog on my computer hobby. I know a little about computers altought I don't thing I know enought to write a blog about computers. I think I have nothing interesting to say about them. Then I think to myself what are the odds that anyone will ever read this. I don't think the odds are good that anyone ever will read my blog so I should now worry so much and just post, because that is what I want to do.

I think I sould also realise that it will take time to find out if I am any good at blogging. It takes time to get good at something. It took time to learn how to use my computer so it will take time to learn how to write a blog. It maybe bad know but it will never get any better if I don't keep writing.

Why I chose the name hello world

I chose the name hello world because it is one of the first or the first programs you are shown how to write in programming books. It usually writes hello world to the computer screen. I also chose it because I feel that I am just starting out as a computer programmer. Sometimes I feel that maybe hello world will be all that I can ever tell the computer to do.

I want to start a blog talking about all things computing or at least computer programming. It is something I enjoy, but I think I will not have anthing to say, I am not an expert I just enjoy programming.

I also want to write about computer animation with the program bender and also about gimp the photo editing program. computer animation is also something I would like to get good at but feel I am not good at right now.
