fiction by silly. Pete Pencil

More fiction today. Instead or writing a story over several posts I want to try to write a complete story in one blog post. And away we I go.

The Life of Pete Pencil was short and illustrious. Pete is a number 2 pencil painted red. He was created in the famous Parker Pencil located in graphite city. He is made of mahogany, and has a graphite center, is smooth, and was made by skilled pencil makers who's family's had been making pencils for generations.

On day an obscure artist known by the name of Rachael Rocks dropped by Parker Pencil and purchased Pete along with sevel other pencils. The packaging that Parker Pencil sold their pencils in was exquisite: a mahogany box with Parker Pencil The greatest pencil maker in the world on the front. The box had a clear coat of varnish on it.

Rachael took Pete and the other pencils home to here studio in a suburb of graphite city. The studio was a sight to see with its green carpeting and Hot pink walls. It was furnished with a silky smooth bright green couch and big screen t.v. plus a queen size bed. The were no kitchen appliances because Rachael did not cook she always went out to eat. Even if she wanted to cook she had no time to because she was always busy on some new art project. Art was her life.

Shortly after Rachael brought Pete home she began the pencil drawing that would make Pete famous.

The famous pencil work was Rachael's portrait of her cat Music a white fluff ball as Rachael referred to him. Music was a menace. He was moody. He could be sitting on you lap one minute and scratching you the next. He acted like he was better than everyone most of the time but, he made a great subject as a portrait because he was a very pretty cat.

One of Rachael's customers saw her drawing of Music and said she should enter it in the cat portrait of the year contest sponsored every year by Kitty band cat food. Her entry was up against fifty other drawings most of them created by famous artists. But miraculously our lady Rachael won. She thanked the judges profusely and accepted the 10,000 dollar grand prize with a smile on her face. She spent the prize money on a new 1980 ford, she loved that car until she got in a wreck at a stop light that totaled the car.

And Pete he was the Pencil she used to draw that winning portrait. He was worn down to a nub by the time Rachael won the contest so he was nearing the end of his useful life anyway so he was sent to the golden cup, which is a cup just for Pete to stay during his retirement years. The golden cup is where Pete is today thirty years after that amazing victory. Rachael checks to make sure he is fine every so often and all the memories of so many years ago come alive to her again. The end.
