What happened to the Chef, fiction

It was a cool calm night. It was a night like a horror movie. Dinner was served at the LongInteger household and Bud thought that the dinner was made by the family's regular cook but, when when he dug into the meal it tasted horrible. When Bud screamed for the chef no one came so he went into the kitchen and found that is was deserted but for the waitress.

The waitress said that the chef was gone when she went to the kitchen to start her work of serving the meal. So she did not know who prepared the meal since the chef liked to take a mini vacation every so often.

Bud called the chefs room but, there was no answer so he tried her cell phone and also got no answer and then he got worried so he immediately went to her room to find some clue as to where she might be.

He had a spare key to all the servants rooms jut in case he need to get into their rooms when the servants were not there; the were on vacation and such. Once in her room he found a not that said that she went on vacation and the she would never be back. Bud thought that how can you go on vacation and never return to job. That sounded more like she was quitting her job. But, the day before he had had a conversation with her and she sound like she enjoyed her job. She he was suspicious of the letter and he thought that their might be foul play involved.

He immediately put on his detective cap; by that I mean he put on a real cap. And started to search for her. Since he did not want to panic the police he did not call them and decided that he would handle the case himself. After all he had read numerous mystery novels and watched lots and lost of mystery novels that were adapted for television. So he felt confident that he could solve the case better than any of the computer city police detectives or so he thought. The first place that he started to look was the computer city bar and grill which was one of Shelly's; the chef's, favorite hangouts.

He asked the bartender if she had seen Shelly and she said that yes she had seen her within the last week but, not within the last 24 hours. It was the same anser she got from all the waiters and waitresses who worked at the bar. None of them had seen her in the last 24 hours either. Now he really started to get upset.
