Bud's other big interst besides hockey was like every kid's in computer city is computers. Sid and Harriet started bud road to the adoration of all things computer early by buing him a Star computer for his first birthday.
Star computer was then as it is now one of the biggest cmputer manufacturer in computer cith. Its line of computer span from the 220 model to the 1032 model. The 220 isa toy computer made for childer. While the 1032 is a model with all the bells and whisles for an expert computer user. All star computer run the galaxy operating system. Star computer refers to the galaxy as an operating sytem that opens up a whole new world for the novice to expert computer user. The name of the operating system says it all.
Star was founded in the early 1970's by Cynthia Files. A woman who knew assembly langauge like it was her first language. She had a strange habit of never remembering what day of the week it was, she always though it was Friday. She would code for hours at a time not paying attention to whatwas going on around her she enjoyed writing computer programs so much.
Like bud's cyntia's love of all things computer started early and by the time she was out of high shool she had witten millions of lines of assembly code and and started Star computer company. She decided to go to the best college in computer city, Computer university. Where she majored in computer science and welding. She graduated with only average grades because she worked to hard on coding, Star and restoring her collection of cars. She was more concerned with a love of learning than a love for good grades. After college she concentrated on star computers almost full time.
Cynthia lived alone prefering the company of hercomper and her bloved assembly language to a husband and family life. She also lived with sparkles her adorable andmiled mannered cat. Cyntia might have lived alone and spent long hours coding on her computer and then welding outback in autoshop but, she enjoyed the time alone cynthia did not dislake the company of people far from it she had manyfriends including the longIntegers. She enjoyed her work. And it showed.
With star being a top company and releasing its the 200 and 1032 compers. Its first attempt at the consumer market. Start had sold strictly to business with large supeer computers for 20 years before deciding with the growing market for personal computer to take the leapand start making mini computers.
Bud's 220 model was a birthday present from Cynthia File. And buy squeak withglee when he saw the shiny new to computer. He banged aways at the keyboard and marveled at the things moving on thescreen. He could not walk yet, write yet and lets be honest he could not use 220 yet. It would be 2 more years beroehe started showing signs of being and average compuer user with a love computer even though he in later life also hated his computer for all the time and attention it soaked upand gave him precious little in return. So cold and unfelling and uncaring his computer was. He showed frome an early age cynthia files love of computing but he did not have cyntias total and complete joy at being in front of his computer all day.
But at his birthday party he had experenced no of this just the joy of having his family around and his shiny now thing that he got in a big box warped inthe paper with the computer on it.
And so his love of the computer began
