Another incident of note at camp software was the camp softall game on the last day of camp. All the kids parents were in the stands to cheer on their children. it was a beauitful 90 degree day. With a slight breese and a several clouds in the sky.

The field they played the game on had just been completed on the camp grounds. It was to be the new home of comper city's little league. The little leage was founded by one of the founder of computer city a woman named Lorna computer. She believed that exercise was a great activity for children. And in 1900 there were preciouse few activites that children could participate in so she decided to found computer city baseball club for kids later renamed computercity little league.

The first year of computer city baseball club play was ok. The club started with 8 teams. And it was hard to convince parents to let their kids join the baseball teams since children of that time period had many chores so the parents thought that it was better for their children to do chores than join a baseball team. Sill with the hardship the club survived and almost thrived, more acuratly it languished and ketp going on until 1953 when it was renamed computer city little league. The name change did not bring any more players to the baseball teams so the little league did not and has still not expanded from its 8 team starting point.

The game on the last day of software camp ismore acuratly described as a t-ball game rather than a softball game. Since mostof the kids were young it was considered to dangerous to have the kids pitch to each other so a t was brought out and the game begun. Even with the ball sittingstill on the T there were several strikeouts. Which brought angry screams from at the kids from their parent. "Come on johnny you better hit that ball. If you cant hit the ball you will never amount to anything in life." said a parent who will remain anonomyous. The agressiveness of the parents shocked and saddened Tommmy Teletype. "The game is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. After all the kids were young. This was not a professional sporting event. "Some parents are too comptetitive tommy thought". Bud was not great hitter in fact he struckout every at bat he had. He mad up for his bad at bats in the field where he was a spectacular fielder for his age. Whith a smill little flaw. He possesed a strong arm with no control. Which made for an exciting time when bud fielded the ball, no one knew where the ball was going to go not even bud. One memorable thow hit the camp mascot softy. You will be glad to hear that softy was not injured. Only his pride was injured when he was hit by the ball he fell backward into the softdrink table and went crashing to the ground.

The ended. No one knew who won because the score was not kept. The only thing anyone knew was that 7 innings were palyed and some of the kids had fun. Bud was sad that camp was ending but, excited to get home and enjoy the rest of the summer and start the first grade.
