Page 7, Buds best years

The day started with gardeing in the greenhouse where Mrs care taught the children how to grow their own vegtables. She taught them how to grow: lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, minature fruit tress, rice, grains, corn, beans, and their own pumpkins to carve for halloween. Sid was delighted to learn about plants. He tookto the soil like a fish out of water.

Next came computer lab which was no big deal to sid since he had been using computers for years already before he goto kindergarten. The computer lab was a wonderful with state of the art computer and printers. The first day the kids made their applicays for t-shirts that Mrs care supplied. Oh, the shirts looked great.

Then came Math a subject that sid was so excited about he loved it even more than gardening. Addition, subtraction, multuplication, division, real numbers, fractions, whole numbers. Math was an a whole world of discovery for sid an he could not wait to master math.

Reading was the next subject. Sid was a great fan of reading because that allowed him to learn about his favorite subject math. He read science, history, art history, mathbooks, textbooks, anything that interested him really.

Writing was the nextsubject on deck. Sid adored writing because it allowed him to put anthing he wanted on paper. His thoughts with no holding back or judgement from anyone else. He was allowed to be himself with the paper and the words. He was able to express himself more fully on paper than he ever could have expressed in words. He bacame relaxed and confident when writing.

And for the final subject of the day ok,it was really not a subject but, it was fun, swimming. Sid struggled with swimming because he preffered land to water. Though he enjoyed the cool water after a long hot day doing school work he just was not comfortable in it.

So with theschool day done Mrs care led the kids to the door and out of the school to wait for the parents to pick up their kids. Harriet was surprised when she saw that sidwas joyful and energetic when she came to pick him up at kindergarten. She asked Mrs, care how her son had been today. "Oh, he was a good young man" said Mrs care. "Thats good to hear" said harriet and the two women said their goodbyes. Sid and harriet hoped into the family van. They chatted about their days as harriet drove them home. "Your sister missed you" said harriet. "she kept asking where you were and when you would be comming home" harriet said. "I am glad to hear that shemissed me "sid said. And so the conversation went until they finally arived home just in time for sid's favorite T.V. show, computerman.

Computer Man is a T.V. show where a guy goes into viewers houses looking for vintage computer equipment and always makes surprising finds. He talks about the history of the computerequipment that he finds. The is fascinating to sid as he adores computers. Sid once watched a marathon of Computer Man show on the fourth of July weekend and he had a ball. He did not always like his computer but, he found the subject of the history of computer hardware fascinating.
