Buds Best Years, Page 28

Another memorable even when Bud was 5 years old was when his family went to the computer city antique computer museum. The museum was one of the foremost computer museums in the world with every computer represented from the 1930's vacuum tube computers to the latest and greatest star computers.

Bud's favorite computers at the museum were the vacuum tube computers. He was amazed at the size and the difficulty of programming one. They were huge and used huge amounts of energy. He wondered what it would have been like to be a programmer and program one when it took hours to create as simple program. The longIntegers spent hours looking at all the computers and were amazed. It was a great day.

The antique computer museum was started by a man named Rick Times. Rick graduated from computer city university with a degree in computer science. Out of college he got a job as a computer programmer. After working as a programmer for 1 year he decided that he did not like the long hours spent sitting at his computer and he did not think he was making the kind of impact on the world he wanted to. He looked at his interests and decided he want to repair computer hardware. So he started his own company from the money he made from working as a programmer. It was called Ricks computer hardware repair.

It was a modest success allowing him to after 20 years retire and follow his passion of collecting. He started small at first then he when he decided to open an antique computer museum things picked up and he toured the country looking for every piece of old and new computer hardware he could find. Then in 1990 he finally realized his dream of a computer museum when he opened the computer city antique computer museum. From the day it was open it was a hit. With it broad range of computer hardware. What a city treasure.

The school year wound up on a clear sunny day in may. Bud was glad he made it thought his first years of school. He had a B's in every class which displeased him. He thought he was an A student and decided to dedicate himself to his school work when he reached the 2nd grade. So with that goal in mind while other kids were at the beach or partying with fiends Bud stayed inside reading or researching on the internet. He would also spend 2 hours a day programming.

Programming was a passion for Bud even at this early age. He sometimes detested his computer but, those times were rare. He dreamed of changing the world with his programming skill but, for now all he could make were simple computer games. Someday someday he always repeated to himself I will change the world with a truly great computer program. I will now describe a typical day of that summer for bud
